What kinds of information do we collect?

The Uplift Dawah site functions for the benefit of visitors to provide information on Uplift Dawah as an organization and Islam generally and offers opportunities to learn, volunteer and make financial contributions.

To that end this site collects personally identifiable information (PII) to facilitate volunteer registration and participation in our programs. For example, we collect information such as, but not limited to name, address, phone, date of birth, gender, and email addresses of members. Additional information including, but not limited to character reference letters and other information about standing in Muslim communities, may be collected for leadership volunteer applicants in order to facilitate the screening of applicants for their participation in Uplift Dawah activities.

Furthermore, program specific information may be collected, tracked, and stored to help the volunteers and leaders facilitate the administration of Uplift Dawah programs. Examples would include but are not limited to an individual’s interest, participation. All information collected is used for the facilitation and development of Uplift Dawah programs and is only shared with Uplift Dawah’s business partners in aggregate form for the purposes stated above.

In some situations, the user may be asked to voluntarily provide feedback on the site. The questions relate to ease of use, any problems encountered in using the site, site performance (speed) and the general look and feel of the site. Personally, identifiable information is not asked for or collected through this process. This information will be used to assist in rectifying problems with the system and improving its usability and performance.

This site also collects anonymous data that is not typically indicative of and cannot be traced to an individual without the cooperation of their Internet Service Provider. This data includes information about the user’s remote IP address, referral data (which page “linked” to the present request), and the browser software’s user-agent string. This information is accepted passively from the HTTP headers that are sent from the user when requesting any file from the server. Personally identifiable data is collected only by means of form interfaces on the site, into which the unit administrator must enter the personal information requested. No cookies or any other tracking technology (other than stated above) are used for the purpose of coordinating information that a user may opt to enter in various interfaces on the site.

With whom does the Uplift Dawah share the information that is collected?

Uplift Dawah only permits access to personal information by authorized individuals. The personal information collected is not shared with other third parties. Reports, statistics, and other analyses of aggregate anonymous information may be shared within the organization or provided to third parties at the sole discretion of the Uplift Dawah.
